Although not a necessity, having a buddy take your measurements is very helpful, and the process takes less than 2 minutes. 

Trainer Hack: Until you or your buddy has done about a hundred client measurements, it's ok to measure each area about 3 times and record the average for each location. With a little practice, you or your friend will quickly get a feel for the proper amount of tension without cutting off any of your blood supply!

Whenever possible, please use the same scale, time of day, and clothing (not as important) used in your initial weigh-in . It's up to you if you wear shoes or not; just keep it the same every time.
Place your tape on the neck, approximately halfway between the chin and collarbone. Keep the tape parallel with the ground.
*Helper may be needed. With your arms relaxed by your sides, place the tape over your arms, around the widest part of your shoulders. Keep the tape parallel with the ground.
*Helper may be needed. Place the tape high underneath your armpits. You will cover your upper chest and upper back. Keep the tape parallel with the ground.
Tape crosses the nipple line. Keep tape parallel with the ground.
Measure the most narrow part of your waist, between the rib cage and your belly button. Keep tape parallel to the ground.
Tape crosses the belly button. Keep tape parallel with the ground.
Place the tape across the widest part of your hips. Keep the tape parallel with the ground.
Measure your dominant-side leg (Right handed? Measure your right leg), about halfway between your knee and hip.
Measure the widest part of your dominant leg's calf. Keep the tape parallel with the ground.
